Beef & Mushroom Stromboli

Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb cooked ground beef
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/4 cup mushrooms
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- Pizza Dough (for 1 pizza)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (or jarred pasta sauce)
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Dried parsley (optional)
- Parmesan Cheese (optional)
- Extra pizza sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions:
How to cook Beef & Mushroom Stromboli
- Heat oil in skillet, add onion and garlic. Cook until translucent.
- Add in ground beef and mushrooms. Heat thoroughly & set aside.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll pizza dough out on parchment paper in rectangle.
- Spread sauce over most of dough, leaving a 2 inch strip unsauced.
- Top sauce with ground beef, mushroom, and onion mixture.
- Spinkle mozzarella cheese on top of ground beef mixture.
- Roll up like a jelly roll - lengthwise, fold the sides in as you go.
- Pinch stromboli shut.
- Brush the entire stromboli with egg wash.
- Cut slits in the top of the stromboli.
- Sprinkle parsley & parm cheese on top.
- Bake in lower 1/3 of the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, and let cool ~5 minutes prior to slicing.
