Recipe: BBQ Steak and Onion Pizza

Leftover Steak + Head Country BBQ Sauce + Pizza Dough = Pizza LOVE

The next time you grill steaks (or cook in the cast-iron), do your self a favor, and make sure you have one leftover. Your pizza loving heart will thank me!

BBQ Steak & Onion Pizza (with balsamic glaze)

Here’s your lineup:

  • Leftover steak - sliced thin

  • Head Country BBQ sauce (or your personal favorite)

  • Red/Purple Onion - sliced thin

  • Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought like I did)

  • Olive Oil

  • Mozzarella Cheese, grated

Step 1:

Slice your leftover steak (this was a ribeye) in to thin slices. Mix together with ~1/2 cup BBQ Sauce (Head Country is my personal favorite).

Step 2: 

Roll out pizza dough on parchment & transfer to a pizza pan.  Spread on olive oil, then then the BBQ sauce.

Step 3:

Add BBQ steak (or any other delicious protein) to pizza - evenly dispersed.

Step 4:

Add cheese - a little or A LOT, it’s up to you!

Step 5:

Top it with THINLY sliced onion.

Step 6

Bake for 15-20 min.

Step 7:

If it suits your fancy drizzle it with a balsamic glaze.

Step 8:

Serve with your favorite vegetable/fruit side (honey glazed carrots anyone?)

ingredients:

  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough (I used Wewalka Round & Thin)
  • 1/2 cup + 2 T. Head Country BBQ Sauce
  • 1 Cooked Ribeye Steak (or any steak of your choice), sliced thin
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, more or less
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 T. Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Glaze, drizzle

How to cook BBQ Steak and Onion Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 425F
  2. Slice your leftover steak (this was a ribeye) in to thin slices. Mix together with ~1/2 cup (or less) BBQ Sauce (Head Country is my personal favorite).
  3. Roll out pizza dough on to parchment paper & pizza pan. Brush on olive oil on to dough. Brush on~2 T. bbq sauce.
  4. Add BBQ steak (or any other delicious protein) to pizza - evenly dispersed.
  5. Add cheese - a little or A LOT, it’s up to you!
  6. Top it with THINLY sliced onion.
  7. Bake for 15-20 min.
  8. If it suits your fancy drizzle it with a balsamic glaze.
  9. Serve with your favorite vegetable/fruit side (honey glazed carrots anyone?)
